The entry route is a referral (henvisning) from your fastlege, psychologist, or psychiatrist to the psychiatric specialist service; treatment is delivered only at hospitals and district psychiatric centres (DPS) under specialist supervision, not by GPs or outside the specialist service. So far only a limited number of DPS and hospital sites offer it, no official national list of participating helseforetak has been published, and the roll-out is expanding gradually. Expect public waiting times of roughly four to six months, sometimes longer; private clinics remain the faster (self-paid) alternative.
