Universitäres Psychiatrisches Zentrum Bern (UPZ) is the university psychiatric centre for the canton of Bern, created on 1 July 2026 from the merger of Universitäre Psychiatrische Dienste Bern (UPD) and PZM Psychiatriezentrum Münsingen, with its main site at Bolligenstrasse 111. UPZ covers the full psychiatric care chain (outpatient, day-clinic and inpatient) and runs dedicated adult treatment programmes for treatment-resistant disorders and interventional psychiatry; it is listed as a designated Spravato (esketamine) centre on the BAG Limitatio list.

Access to the Swiss Spravato route runs through a psychiatrist, who confirms the eligibility criteria and obtains the health insurer's cost approval (Kostengutsprache) before the first dose.

Who qualifies for reimbursed Spravato in Switzerland?
