At the Universitäre Psychiatrische Kliniken (UPK) Basel, ketamine therapy is offered on an outpatient basis within the Centre for Affective, Stress and Sleep Disorders (ZASS), a university competence centre for depression, bipolar and related disorders. The centre's outpatient unit for affective disorders and interventional psychiatry currently focuses on pre-assessments for specialised treatments for patients with depression, including bipolar illness, and other affective disorders, and conducts education and indication consultations for electroconvulsive therapy, which is performed both outpatient and inpatient; further services are described as under development.
