The Psychiatrisches Zentrum AR in Herisau (Krombach 3), part of the Spitalverbund Appenzell Ausserrhoden, runs a special consultation dedicated to treatment-resistant depression at its outpatient services (Kasernenstrasse 6). It is aimed at patients, and at physicians seeking a second opinion, when depression has not responded to previous treatment.
