About this provider
Emergis, the mental health institution for Zeeland, has treated people with treatment-resistant depression with esketamine nasal spray at its dedicated esketamine outpatient clinic in Kloetinge since January 2024, so patients from Zeeland no longer need to travel to Tilburg or the Randstad. The treatment is reimbursed care under strict conditions: prior psychotherapy and at least three medication treatments must have had insufficient effect. The programme is structured in three phases within a six-month course. Clients administer the spray themselves; temporary side effects such as dizziness, headache and raised blood pressure peak and subside after roughly 40 to 50 minutes, and clients only go home once everything is stable. Emergis participates in the national ENC-NL network researching long-term effects.
