Magwise Medical Centre (Centrum Medyczne Magwise) is a private neuropsychiatric clinic based in Warsaw's Wola district, with a psychology branch in Srodmiescie and a TMS branch in Walbrzych. How much does ketamine therapy cost and what is included?

The full ketamine therapy cycle costs 9,300 PLN and includes the drug, eight intramuscular administrations supervised by a psychiatrist, eight psychedelic-integration sessions with a psychotherapist, and a summary psychiatric follow-up visit. Qualification is paid separately: a psychiatric consultation (from 350 PLN) plus two preparatory visits with the psychologist who will lead integration; two closing sessions with the psychologist take place at the end of therapy.

Is ketamine treatment reimbursed by the NFZ?

Per the clinic, intravenous and intramuscular ketamine treatment is not reimbursed by the NFZ. Intranasal esketamine may be NFZ-reimbursed provided the patient meets a set of specific conditions. Ketamine therapy at Magwise is carried out privately, without NFZ reimbursement.

How do I start ketamine treatment at Magwise?

Book a qualification consultation with a psychiatrist (in the clinic or online), who assesses indications, verifies the diagnosis and rules out contraindications, ordering tests such as ECG or blood work if needed. This is followed by two preparatory visits with the integration psychologist, after which a therapy coordinator schedules the treatment sessions. Contact is by phone (+48 662 277 477) or email. How does a ketamine treatment course run?

The course lasts four weeks with two sessions per week. Each visit lasts about 1.5 hours: ketamine is injected intramuscularly by a psychiatrist (about 30 minutes with monitoring of blood pressure, pulse and mental state), followed by a psychotherapy session to integrate the psychedelic experience. Patients must be picked up by a caregiver after each session. Two closing psychotherapy sessions and a psychiatric follow-up three weeks after the last administration complete the protocol.

Who is ketamine therapy intended for?

It is aimed at people with treatment-resistant depression - those who have not responded to at least two different antidepressants used at adequate dose and duration in the current moderate-to-severe episode. It is also used off-label as supportive treatment in bipolar depression, PTSD, generalised anxiety, social phobia, OCD, pain syndromes and in patients with suicidal ideation.
