About this provider

Psyon (Psyon s.r.o.) is a Prague-based 'psychedelic clinic' - it describes itself as the first clinic in the Czech Republic and the first in Europe to offer professionally guided ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), which it has provided since 2020. By June 2026 more than 1,500 clients had completed KAT across nearly 3,000 ketamine sessions, with outcomes tracked via PHQ-9/GAD-7 questionnaires in the DeePsy app (n>1,200). Alongside KAT it runs a fully insurance-covered outpatient psychiatric clinic, psychotherapy and integration services, professional PAP training, and participates in psychedelic clinical trials. It holds contracts with 7 Czech public insurers; KAT itself is partially covered, and a subsidy programme exists for those who cannot afford it.

Common questions

Are services covered by insurance?

Psyon has contracts with 7 public insurers (VZP, ZPS, VOZP, CPZP, ZPMVCR, OZP, RBP). Clients of these insurers get standard psychotherapy and outpatient psychiatry fully covered; ketamine-assisted therapy is partially covered (contains covered and non-covered items).

What are the admission conditions for KAT?

Admission is decided by a physician after an initial meeting plus comprehensive psychiatric and internal examinations. Requirements include age 18+, motivation for therapeutic work, and at least one previous treatment attempt. Contraindications include psychotic-spectrum illness (also in family history), current addiction, acute suicidality, severe personality disorder, serious cardiovascular/liver disease, pregnancy/breastfeeding.

How does the treatment proceed?

Initial online meeting (25 min) -> comprehensive psychiatric examination (90-120 min) -> internal examination (30-60 min) -> KAT itself in at least five sessions (preparation, ketamine experience, integration), 8-14 hours in total.

Does KAT work?

The clinic reports 77% of clients feel positive change at treatment end; PHQ-9/GAD-7 data from >1,200 patients show significant symptom reduction sustained at 6-month follow-up (clinical practice data, not an RCT).

What if I cannot afford it?

A subsidy programme can reduce or refund the price for people in need (disability pension, students, pensioners etc.); inclusion is decided by the clinic's medical council - one cannot actively apply.
